Join us in this special Gong Fu Cha tea tasting event. In Western-style brewing, we use a relatively small amount of tea leaves in a cup or teapot. The leaves are generally brewed once for two to four minutes and then discarded.
Gong Fu Cha is a Chinese method of brewing meant to bring out the best flavors in a quality tea. Translated as “making tea with skill or effort,” it is a way of skillfully brewing tea to bring out these flavors. Larger amounts of tea leaves are brewed in a smaller amount of water for a shorter time and repeating until the flavor is exhausted. This brings out the “layers” of flavor in a tea rather than having them all combined in a cup as in the Western brewing method.
